How Can I Upload a New Website Design While Keep the Old Version as an Archive?

WEBSITE

ARCHIVE

I have a main website with the domain name lollipop.love, which includes several subdomains such as candy.lollipop.love, sweet.lollipop.love, sugar.lollipop.love, honey.lollipop.love, and pinki.lollipop.love. For a specific purpose, I’ve decided to create a completely new design for the main domain lollipop.love as well as new designs for all the subdomains. I want to upload the new designs for both the main domain and subdomains while. At the same time, I want to keep the old versions of the website (both the domain and subdomains) as an archive that I (and others) can still access. What’s the best way to achieve this?

I think the best way to go with is moving the old designs into a new subdomains like old.lollipop.love and so on..

To keep the old version of your website while uploading a new design, you can follow these steps:

  1. Create Archive Subdomains: Set up subdomains like archive.lollipop.loveto store the old versions of your site.

  2. Move Old Versions: Copy the files and data from your old website to these new archive subdomains. Double-check that everything works as expected.

  3. Upload New Designs: Replace the files on your main domain (lollipop.love) and its subdomains with the new designs.

  4. Test Both Versions: Make sure the new website is running smoothly on the main domain and the old version is accessible on the archive subdomains.

  5. Add a Link to the Archive: On your new website, include a link to the archive for anyone who might need to access the older version.

This way, you can have your fresh design live while keeping the old site as a reference.
